In yet another exciting partnership for the 2018 Stella Artois Caulfield Cup Carnival, Melbourne Racing Club (MRC) has today announced that Crown’s hatted Bistro Guillaume will take up residence on the home turn across the Carnival, beginning with Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas Day on Saturday 13 October and finishing with Stella Artois Caulfield Cup Day on Saturday 20 October.

The partnership follows the success of previous restaurant residencies within the Heath Enclosure, including Teage Ezard’s fine dining restaurant, EZARD in 2017, Estelle by Scott Pickett in 2016 and Stokehouse in 2015.

Pleased to welcome the French Bistro to its new trackside location, MRC’s Chief Commercial Officer, Peta Webster, encourages savvy racegoers to book their place now, with the popular restaurant marquee known to sell out well in advance of the spring season.

“To have yet another hatted restaurant take up residency trackside this year is a true testament to our world- class Carnival.“It’s a real honour to welcome Bistro Guillaume to the MRC family and we can’t wait for our guests to enjoy the creations of one of Australia’s best restaurants, from one of the most spectacular views on course,” Webster said.

With tickets now on sale, the fine food experience of Bistro Guillaume at the Heath will deliver racegoers an authentically French trackside experience, featuring four courses and paired with matched wines from Penfolds.

To mark this special occasion, guests of the restaurant on Stella Artois Caulfield Cup Day will be treated to their first taste of Penfolds new vintage wines from the 2018 Collection. Penfolds wines will be paired with each course, featuring the coveted Bin range, including Bin 311 Chardonnay, Kalimna Bin 28 Shiraz and Bin 51 Eden Valley Riesling. The highly anticipated 2014 Grange will also be available for guests to purchase on the day.

Brahimi hopes that while inside, guests will be transported to the streets of France, with authentically modern French aromas, flavours and an aesthetic that reflects the restaurant’s modern chic, fresh feel. Only to be brought back to the present as the horses thunder past the home turn.

“Working with (MRC Executive Chef)Julian Robertshaw and the team at Caulfield Racecourse, I see a lot of pride in what they bring to their guests, and I look forward to doing the same this Stella Artois Caulfield Cup Carnival,” Brahimi said.

“For me, bistro food is the food I want to eat in my home, and Bistro Guillaume is my “home away from home”, so I am thrilled to be bringing that to Caulfield.”

Tickets for Bistro Guillaume at the Heath include an all-inclusive four-course lunch with beverages; exclusive indoor and outdoor decking area that looks directly onto the home turn; television screens and exclusive betting facilitates within the marquee; racecourse and Heath Enclosure admission, and a racebook per guest.
