Cast list of Celebrity Apprentice unveiled - & there are some diverse names!

GABI Grecko and her 72-year-old tycoon husband Geoffrey Edelsten will go head to head in the new season of Nine’s Celebrity Apprentice.

The controversial couple lead a cast of radio, reality TV and sporting stars who will compete to survive a grilling from high-profile entrepreneur Mark Bouris.

A controversial face in the line-up is radio DJ Mel Greig, who was involved in an ill-fated prank call in which she posed as the Queen. The “royal hoax” prompted a distressed hospital nurse in London to take her own life.

Fellow DJ Sophie Monk has signed up, along with reality TV stars Gina Liano (Real Housewives of Melbourne), Tim Dormer (Big Brother) and Blake Garvey (The Bachelor).

The cast is rounded out by TV actress Esther Anderson, Miss Universe Australia Tegan Martin, NRL superstar Matt Cooper, TV presenter James Mathison and Hollywood gossip guru Richard Reid.

The show will continue to be fronted by Mr Bouris, financial adviser, founder of Wizard Home Loans and the now chairman of financial advice and planning company Yellow Brick Road.

Bouris took on the role in 2009, when the show was just called The Apprentice, and is a much more televisually pleasing contrast to the US’s Donald Trump, who took the American version of the show to lofty heights.

In previous seasons of Australia’s Celebrity Apprentice — which started in 2011 — Bouris’s advisers were names like former Women’s Weekly editor Deborah Thomas, Wizard co-founder Brad Seymour and Mark’s son, Dane Bouris.

For this season, that double act has been replaced with two well-known women: TV industry stalwart Kerri-Anne Kennerley and ModelCo beauty company boss Shelley Barrett.

The bold, outspoken and colourful duo will observe the apprentices and report back to the Bouris base camp before the big gun makes his weekly decision as to who gets fired each week.

Barrett, a TV newbie, is well-qualified for the business role having been hailed as one of Australia’s top female entrepreneurs.

“When I created ModelCo, I had no idea it would evolve into the global beauty brand it is today,” Barrett said.

“It certainly didn’t happen overnight. It took years and years of hard work, determination and skill. I have learnt so much along the way, I certainly feel well equipped to mentor the contestants.

“Every journey has a starting point. All the contestants have been given a unique opportunity to learn from industry leaders. I am really looking forward to accompanying the group along the way.”

ModelCo products may be loved by Victoria Beckham, Michelle Obama, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, Elle Macpherson, Dannii Minogue, Cheyenne Tozzi and Rosie Huntington-Whitelely, but will the crop of celeb apprentices love her as well?

Meanwhile, Kennerley is looking forward to being involved in a new area of TV for the industry professional.

“This is the type and area of television that I haven’t done before so I’m looking forward to working with Mr Bouris on this show,’’ she said.

Celebrity Apprentice has a strong corporate structure at the heart of it, even though there’s lots of fun involved.

“People are probably not aware of my business activities. I’ve been on the board of two public companies. I’m on the board of Golf Australia and the Council of the Order of Australia, as well as being the CEO of my own business.

“When it comes to hiring and firing, I know you have to take it quite seriously.”

Filming of Celebrity Apprentice is under way — the first day of shooting happened at Sydney’s Rockpool restaurant today — with the season airing on Nine in September.

Base Body Babes Instagram hacked: but the popular health chicks vow to regain followers

Base Body Babes is a health and fitness brand directed by Sydney sisters, Felicia Oreb and Diana Johnson. With one of the most successful fitness Instagram accounts @basebodybabes with almost 560,000 followers and several thriving businesses, Base Body Babes has become one of the worlds most recognised and well respected health and fitness brands.

At 4am yesterday morning (18th July), Felicia woke up to check their Instagram account @basebodybabes. When she tried to view their profile, she realised she had been logged out and the password wasn’t working. Confused, she picked up her husbands phone and checked the @basebodybabes page where she was shocked to see only 170 of their 765 images left on the profile. “Before my eyes, the images were being deleted one after another and within a few minutes, the entire account was deleted and the name was changed to “@dailyfitnessbabes”. It had been hacked!” Felicia said. The hackers name has been changed several times and is now “finestfitnessgoals”. The only thing that remained the same, were the girls 559,000 followers.

Felicia contacted Instagram instantly via email to report the hacking and seek some answers. They had some minor correspondence with the tech team, but have still had no promise that anything can or will be done to retrieve their account. They are still eagerly awaiting their response and are hopeful Instagram will be able to help them regain all of their followers and content and shut down the hacker.

Base Body Babes have now started a new page with the same name @basebodybabes and have accumulated almost 40k followers within 24hours. They are on a mission to get back all of their 559,000 stolen and very beloved followers that they have spent years gaining. Meanwhile the hacked account is quickly losing followers as the Base Body Babes confused followers unfollow this new unfamiliar spam account.

“We have started an Instagram campaign called #bringbackbasebodybabes and we have had the most amazing response from fellow Instagrammers, with hundreds of accounts sharing our images and encouraging people to follow us and report the hackers account.

We have been so overwhelmed with the love and support so far and are feeling positive.” Felicia said. “We will not let one person destroy everything we have worked so hard to develop, we are strong, motivated, passionate women and will be working harder than ever to recreate what was stolen from us.” Diana said.

Body Base update: the fit chicks have their Instagram handle and their followers all back.

Lancome celebrates 80 years of beauty life

Last night, General Manager of Lancôme Australia, Ed Holmes, hosted an evening of beauty and elegance at The Langham Sydney, to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the brand, founded by entrepreneur Armand Petitjean in 1935. The Langham Sydney played home to, what can only be described as, an evening to remember.

The very essence of Lancôme was captured on the evening, through an inspired voyage of the senses. As guests sipped on Cuvée Rosé by Laurent Perrier, they were treated to the beautifully crafted watercolour works of internationally acclaimed fashion illustrator, Kerrie Hess, to the olfactory delights of flawlessly arranged and perfectly formed roses by Saskia Havekes of Grandiflora, the quintessence of Lancôme. Working alongside The Langham Sydney’s Executive Chef, Thomas Heinrich and Head Patissiere, Chef Miguel Jocson, Australia’s leading food editor, Donna Hay created an exquisitely French-inspired culinary experience. Lastly, to fill the heads and hearts of our 170 VIP and media guests was a private performance by one of Australia’s most celebrated performing artists of the 21st century, Jessica Mauboy. This Australian icon was simply breath-taking. Each brought a unique element to form a much larger vision of beauty and sophistication.

Through these phenomenal women – and globally the brand’s ambassadresses, Julia Roberts, Penélope Cruz, Kate Winslet, Lupita Nyong’o, Lily Collins, Alma Jodorowsky and Daria Werbowy – Lancôme celebrates 80 years young through the women who embody the qualities of elegance, beauty and innovation so effortlessly.

We would also like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to our partner, The Langham Sydney. This most beautiful boutique hotel is befitting of the most celebratory and elegant of moments in a brand’s history.

The evening was perfectly supported by our sponsors, Laurent Perrier, for the truly elegant, French touch of Cuvée Rosé, and to our water sponsor, Santa Vittoria, for keeping our guests chic and hydrated.
