I was just heading off to bed, and I came across this on and as I am too tired and to fashioned-out tonight to even try to string words about it together, I’ll leave it to Sydney’s Tele to tell their story below.

All I can say is that Australian designers try SO hard to make a mark of fashion integrity on the world – Collette Dinnigan, ksubi, Akira, Jayson Brunsdon, Romance Was Born, Willow, Zimmermann, Alex Perry, Ginger & Smart, Alice McCall et al _ to be innovative and create a signature that could represent our country internationally.

And this is what will represent Australia -an outfit fit for a showgirl.

Eva Mendes - the 'body image' nazi's have gone completely mad . . .

I was on Seven’s Sunrise show early this morning, justifying why the usual ‘curvaceous’ Eva Mendes looks so good in a recent shoot of underwear she has done for Calvin Klein. Sound ridiculous?

There she is, striking a pose or two (in CK undies) with fellow good sort Jamie Dornan, the campaign is promoting the brand’s fall (autumn/winter in Oz speak) 2009 underwear and jeans collections. In one of the several black-and-white pix (shot by renowned photographer Steven Klein) Ms Mendes is pictured laying on Jamie’s almost naked body. You go, you 30-something girl.

Sydney designer retailer, Robby Ingham, has been ‘doing’ the European fashion circuit since 1983, so he is no stranger when it comes to the ebbs and flows of the fashion business. Stocking the likes of Paul Smith, Martin Margiela, Acne jeans, Steven Alan, Neil Barrett, Dries van Noten (spring/summer season shown in this pic, courtesy of and Marc Jacobs (at his Paddington and MLC centre CBD stores), he says there’s a whole real new fashion mood out there.
