Locally owned by Brooke Hudson, Kassia and Tristan Grier, Harvest, opened in the historic village of Newrybar in 2007. The Queenslander styled restaurant has grown over the years to include a bakery with 107-year-old Scotch oven, and artisan delicatessen with adjacent edible garden.

Showcasing the diversity of the wonderful local region Harvest Newrybar creates fabulous fresh food sourced from local artisan producers and the restaurants own gardens.


The restaurants chefs have teamed up with forager and wild food researcher, Peter Hardwick, to create a menu full of local curiosities. Each Wednesday, we present a selection of ideas and flavours on a plate after a day of foraging and developing (including pickling and fermenting) at the Wild Harvest Sessions for guests to experience and provide feedback.

The winning dishes make it to the restaurant’s seasonal menu. Each month at the Wild Harvest Chef Series, which welcomes top culinary talent from Queensland and NSW to create a series of one-off menus exploring and showcasing Australia’s underutilised native and wild ingredients.

Christmas Eve celebrations at the Hinterland restaurant, are set to showcase the finest home-grown, hand-picked ingredients and harness the powerful connection between food and nature.

The restaurant’s festive Wild Harvest menu explore Australia’s native ingredients with dishes that are vital, wild and creative as never before, ensuring a traceable dining experience. $75 for x4 courses (+ $55 beverage pairing)

Then celebrate the final hours of 2017 and unleash your alter-ego amidst the opulence of gilded masks,frivolous feathers, and dazzling disco tunes at the harvest newrybar masquerade ball. Sprawling across the restaurant, bakery and garden, the harvest nye party will be a night to remember. 7pm-1pm / $195 including food, drinks, disco and shuttle bus.
