David Jones has hosted 65 media and guests at the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) in Hobart, Tasmania for The Art of Entertaining; the first in a two day series of immersive experiences celebrating their AW19 season, The Art of Living.

Showcasing David Jones’ autumn winter collections across fashion, beauty, food and home, the launch of The Art of Living is a departure from the department store’s traditional new season presentation, delivering a concept designed to inspire customers to take a curated approach to living.

The lunch, hosted by David Jones General Manager of Home Yvonne Stinson and Managing Director of David Jones Food Pieter de Wet at MONA’s famed restaurant ‘The Source’, The Art of Entertaining focused on the retailer’s AW19 food and home offering and provided an intimate setting to highlight Tasmanian providores, local winemakers and artisan distillers.

Guests dined on handcrafted David Jones dinnerware, crockery and glassware, designed in collaboration with Robert Gordon Pottery on a dynamic menu designed by MONA Chef Vince Trim and his team, showcasing David Jones’ premium Tasmanian suppliers.

“The Art of Entertaining is a spectacular opportunity for us to shine a light on the exceptional standard of produce, food and drink coming out of Tasmania,” said David Jones Managing Director of Food, Pieter de Wet. “We are incredibly fortunate to have access to such superb suppliers throughout Australia and beyond and the AW19 season is no exception as we sample Tasmanian produce, seafood, wine, cheese and whiskey from within our food offering.”

The Art of Entertaining also featured new season arrivals from Dinosaur Designs, Georg Jensen, Bang & Olufsen and David Jones.

Yvonne Stinson, David Jones General Manager of Home said, “The David Jones AW19 campaign captures the essence of artful living and has provided us with a platform to celebrate some of the remarkable product coming out of Australia. We’re delighted to welcome iconic Australian brand Dinosaur Designs to our evolving stable of Home and Lifestyle brands. From surround sound to ceramics, we will continue to develop an innovative selection of brands that caters to our customer’s sense of style beyond their wardrobe.”
