During one of the most critical and important times in our nation’s history, MOGA are proud to voice their support for marriage equality in Australia.

Our love and adoration towards the LGBTIQ community is strong. In honour of their strength, bravery and inclusive spirit, MOGA have designed a limited edition rainbow striped PRIDE scarf.

MOGA has created an advertisement featuring the fabulous ‘Pride Bride’, taken on the steps of Melbourne’s Parliament House and created a social media GIF to encourage Australia to SAY YES to love!

However, to also raise awareness of some of the hardships the LGBTIQ community have recently faced in the wake of the plebiscite, MOGA have teamed up with writer and model Kalida Edwards for a blog post on what marriage equality means to a young mum who is also a bisexual woman of colour, like herself. You can view this content here.

Similar to their previous designs, the MOGA PRIDE scarf can be worn by anyone, regardless of their skin colour, religious beliefs or sexual orientation. To demonstrate this, they have even draped it as a hijab, a world first, to acknowledge that members of the LGBTIQ community exist in ALL religions, including Islam, which is sadly one of the most homophobic in the world.

Through this campaign, they hope to open a discussion and dialogue so LGBTIQ individuals can feel safe and proud of who they are. Here are a few words from MOGA founder & creative director:

“This campaign is something that is very special and important to us. As a new brand that prides itself on challenging social norms, we often face some of the same struggles and barriers as members of the LGBTIQ community. Struggles that include not always fitting into societal expectations or being negatively perceived for simply being different.

However, for us, the expression of love and identity is paramount to what we stand for. At the end of the day, everyone should feel proud of who they are, regardless of their skin colour, religious beliefs or sexual orientation and everyone deserves the right to love, and be loved in return.” – Azahn Munas

Our PRIDE scarf will be available exclusively via our ASOS Boutique.
