Handpicked Wines have collaborated with Australian fashion darlings, Romance Was Born, to create a limited edition Yarra Valley Rosé. Inspired by the fashion house’s latest collection, Electric Orchid, this fashionable Rosé features a label created by designers Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales featuring art by dual Archibald-winning artist, Del Kathryn Barton.

The collaboration came about after Luke and Anna visited the Handpicked Cellar Door and bonded with Handpicked over their mutual love of Rosé and the desire to bring two creative Australian brands together.

“Handpicked Wines shares Romance Was Born’s philosophy of quality curation, creative pairings, and at the core, a playful freedom,” Romance Was Born duo, Plunkett and Sales said.

“We are proud to contribute a special label we designed with dear friend Del Kathryn Barton and to leave the winemaking up to the experts.“Besides the taste, I think Rosé suggests a feeling that isn’t found with most white or red wines. For starters it suggests a feeling of fun and flirtation, much like our clothing and something for all occasions,” Plunkett and Sales said.

Handpicked Director of Winemaking Peter Dillon said: “Like fashion changes from season to season, so does wine each vintage. I love creating a wine every year, just like Anna and Luke do with their collections.”

The Rosé is part of Handpicked Wines Spring Summer Collection 2018, an eclectic line up featuring lighter style fine wines perfect for the summer months ahead.

The Handpicked philosophy of travelling the world, one wine at a time, is showcased in this Spring Summer Collection collection that features wines from the best Australian wine regions including Pinot Noir from the Mornington Peninsula, Chardonnay from the Yarra Valley and Grenache from the Barossa Valley. The company aims to release the Spring Summer Collection in Sydney, followed by rollout into key export markets such as Thailand, Hong Kong, China and USA.

Handpicked Wines continues to break the barrier of uniqueness and creativity, continuing to pursue partnerships within the realms of fashion, theatre and art.
