Get ready Melbourne, athletic apparel retailer lululemon has teamed up with the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) to bring yoga to one of Melbourne’s most iconic organisations.

In a major milestone for the brand, lululemon is celebrating 20 years of innovating product, getting sweaty and elevating communities. Founded in 1998, lululemon has come a long way since its inception as a small design and yoga studio in Vancouver, growing to over 400 stores in 12 countries around the world.

As part of the celebrations, lululemon will present a summer of yoga and active experiences at the NGV. 20 weeks of programming will be on offer, including a selection of yoga, meditation and mindful practices led by lululemon’s Melbourne ambassadors.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with such an iconic Melbourne institution to celebrate the 20th birthday of lululemon. Our roots in yoga run deep, so our partnership with the National Gallery of Victoria is a great opportunity for us to share an integral part of our culture with our community. We are very much looking forward to curating this program and sharing it with the community”. Paul Tinkler, Managing Director lululemon Australia & New Zealand.

”We are delighted to partner with lululemon to create a program that offers our audiences the opportunity to reflect and be present in the tranquil spaces of the NGV’s galleries and garden.” Tony Ellwood, Director, National Gallery of Victoria.

lululemon’s manifesto (a selection of words printed on their bags and collateral) has been an iconic, visual representation of the brand and an ever-evolving mantra since its inception. Undergoing a refresh for the 20th birthday, the manifesto aims to spark conversations and remind guests to practice self-care and be mindful.
