The Australian Open can now add Michelin Stars to its awe-inspiring food line-up with tickets now on sale for the prestigious AO Chef Series.

Debuting at AO 2018, the popular pop-up event at The Glasshouse will host some of the world’s most respected chefs at Melbourne Park from 14-25 January.

The AO Chef Series for 2019 boasts an impressive line-up:

January: Simone Zanoni, Italian bornexecutive chef, creating a Mediterranean inspired menu, from Michelin starred Four Seasons George V, France

January: Alejandro Saravia, innovative Melbourne based, Peruvian executive chef from Pastuso, presenting a Farmer’s Daughters, Gippsland coastal seafood menu experience

January: Albert Roux, OBE, world renowned Michelin star executive chef, heralding from the highly esteemed and awarded Le Gavroche in London

January: Duncan Welgemoed, exciting South Australian based executive chef creating a modern African inspired menu from, Africola, peer voted fifth best restaurant in the 2019 Top 100 Australian Restaurants.

“We are delighted to announce that tickets are now on sale for the 2019 AO Chef Series,” Chief Revenue Officer Richard Heaselgrave said.

“The Australian Open not only prides itself on hosting world-class tennis, but in celebrating and curating some of the most magnificent and unique dining experiences. This year, we continue to build upon this concept, with two Michelin Star chefs gracing Melbourne Park to feed tennis and food fans alike.

“We are delighted Alejandro Saravia is returning to the AO Chef Series with his paddock-to-plate concept, Farmer’s Daughters, and welcome exciting South Australian based executive, Duncan Welgemoed from Africola.”

Each session will include a five course degustation with specially created menus and matched wines, using local produce to reflect each chef’s heritage and personal style.

Designed to be incredibly intimate, the chefs will tell personal food stories to guests while some of the most regarded sommeliers, including Silvano Giraldin from Le Gavrocheand Justin Jenkins from Fleet Wines, will describe the wines and how they are paired with the beautiful food on offer.

The AO Chef Series includes a ground pass to the AO, with the option for guests to upgrade to a stadium ticket.
