Australian contemporary jewellery brand, SARAH & SEBASTIAN, has launched their HEIRLOOM collection.

Striking a personal cord with Creative Director Sarah Gittoes, this collection takes inspiration from the pieces she discovered within her own mother’s jewellery box. Each piece evokes memories and continues to carry great significance for Gittoes, to tell the story between the generations of her own family; whether it be her mother’s coin signet ring, her 80’s button earrings or her grandmother’s engagement ring and pearl chain necklaces.

Co-Founders Sarah Gittoes and Robert Sebastian Grynkofki relooked each design and object to strip away the unnecessary and give each piece the brands signature modern sensibility. Gittoes personal favourite styles that carry sentimental attachment in their design include the Di Earring, the Torc Earring, the Large Whirl brooch and the Large Coin Necklace.

For the first time, SARAH & SEBASTIAN have ethically sourced lab formed sapphire and ruby stones to create an oversized single earring that interprets a traditional stone cut in a modern way. Further stones used within the collection include classic white diamonds and fresh water pearls.

All pieces are handmade by skilled jewellers in-house at their Australian studio, including the line chain bracelet, made completely by hand; along with a capsule of wire styles, meaning no two are exactly alike. These also include tiny discreet diamond details found at the ends of the wire knots and rings to encourage their own sense of discovery.
