In a continued celebration of creativity, nature, and the evolving spirit of Australian design, Aje debuted its Resort 26 collection, Impression, at the Pier Pavilion, Barangaroo as part of Australian Fashion Week.

Unfortunately, a prior work commitment had me (sadly) unable to attend, but wow, how beautiful does this collection look? And below are the label’s show notes …..

Co-Founders Adrian Norris and Edwina Forest presented ‘Impression’ – a poetic exploration of art, nature, and escapism. Drawing inspiration from the impressionist movement and the natural Australian landscape, the collection brought to life a world of sensation through painterly textures, organic forms, and a deeply expressive palette.

“This season, we were guided by the emotional response of the artist, the fleeting moment captured, the instinctive brushstroke, the echo of nature rendered into movement. Impression is about feeling, translating the raw beauty of our surroundings into form,” said Edwina Forest, Co-Founder and Creative Director.

The collection unfolded like a canvas; silhouettes drifted with weightless volume and fluidity, echoing the lines of vines, branches and blooming flora. Deconstructions met refinement in defined shoulder lines, undulating hems, and sculptural drapes. Tactile textures – braided leather, raw crochet, hammered hardware – brought an edge to the ethereal.

Water-inspired accents shimmered in sequin-bathed separates, while silk pieces flow like mist across the body. Nostalgic coastal elements resurface through pearlescent details, lace-layered denim, and sun-faded prints. The colour story moved through painterly pastels, grounded earth tones, and bursts of magenta, sunshine yellow, and vibrant red, evoking both Monet’s palette and Australia’s visceral light.

“Impression pays homage to our roots while looking forward, a reflection of the landscape we come from and the global journey we’re on. It’s a collection for the Aje Woman who seeks meaning, expression and freedom in what she wears” said Adrian Norris, Co-Founder and CEO.

As Aje continues to define modern Australian style, Resort 26 offers a deeply immersive experience, where art, fashion and emotion converge in a story told through fabric, form and feeling.
