Biggest pole dancing event, POLE ICON, to return this June
Stretch those pins and get ready to sparkle because Australia’s leading pole dancing extravaganza, Pole Icon, is returning to Luna Park this June and it’s going to be bigger than ever.
A spectacular annual championship event showcasing Australia’s most elite pole talent, Pole Icon debuted in 2022 to a sell-out 1,500 strong crowd with a further 2,600 viewers tuning into the live stream or downloading the event globally. Adam Lim was the top performer of the night taking the crown, while international superstar drag queen Alyssa Edwards attended as a guest judge and performer for extra special star quality on the night.
According to Pole Icon creator and Australia’s most renowned pole instructor, Chilli Rox, this year competitors and spectators can expect an event like no other.
“I wanted to celebrate my love of pole dancing with an annual event that allows athletes to showcase how talented they are plus offer unrivalled prizes including $10,000 for first place,” says Chilli, who announced this year’s event and some of the competitors on her Instagram this morning.
“Pole dancing has come a long way the last two decades with it now recognised as an official sport and a global fitness phenomenon. What’s great is that it’s for everyone regardless of your age, gender, sexuality or profession. Pole Icon is a way for the best dancers to compete in a premier event to a global audience, and even if you’re not a pole dancer yourself, audience members are guaranteed a fun and jaw dropping experience they won’t forget.”
Pole Icon 2023 is currently looking for sponsors with exciting celebrity guest judges and entertainment to be announced closer to the event. Taking place on 24 June, 2023 at Luna Park in Sydney, competitors are selected via invite only. Tickets for the event and digital live stream will be available soon.
