[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]TAG Heuer and global Brand Ambassador Chris Hemsworth has officially launched the Autavia Collection in Australia with an adventurous aviation and automobile inspired media lunch at the iconic Catalina in Rose Bay.

The guests, which also included Elysse Knowles, Scott Pendlebury and Pip Edwards, were treated to a seaplane ride over the beautiful Sydney Harbour after Hemsworth shared anecdotes of his relationship with TAG Heuer, latest adventures and favourite TAG Heuer timepiece from the collection.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image media=”66316″ media_width_percent=”100″ alignment=”center” img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image media=”66319″ media_width_percent=”100″ alignment=”center” img_size=”full”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image media=”66320″ media_width_percent=”100″ alignment=”center” img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The daring new Autavia collection was showcased alongside the heritage Autavia pieces from the TAG Heuer Switzerland museum at the intimate event. From 1933 to 1957, the Autavia was a dashboard instrument used in racing cars and aircrafts. The name itself comes from the combination of automobile and aviation. After production of the Autavia dashboard timer stopped, the name was still available, and then CEO Jack Heuer decided to use it for the chronograph wristwatch the Swiss watchmaker launched in 1962 and produced until 1985. Since then, the Autavia had never returned as a collection until now.

The range boasts the versatility, ruggedness and reliability that characterized the original Autavia timepieces. Making use of the carbon-composite hairspring technology that distinguishes each piece as an Isograph, the avant-garde watchmaker builds on its heritage to continue to saga. The Autavia will now join the ranks of the Carrera, Monaco, Formula 1, Aquaracer and Link collections of TAG Heuer.

It was here that the relationship between Hemsworth and the prestigious Swiss watch brand strengthened; this naturally evolved with Chris officially joining the family of global brand ambassadors in 2015 with a launch event in Bennelong.

For a limited time between 27thJune-8th July, TAG Heuer Sydney Boutique will be exhibiting the heritage Autavia timepieces to the public.
