Australia’s snow resorts are gearing up for the new season and Thredbo is planning to really ramp up winter with a series of new experiences.
With the opening celebrations under six weeks away – held over the June long weekend – many people are choosing to spend any mid-year vacay time in Australia. as opposed to jumping on a plane outta here. Thredbo has created even more experience ways to spend time in the Australian alps.

Meet Thredbo’s newest elevated alpine experience: the First Tracks Club. This is for those who prefer their mornings quiet, their turns untouched and their access exclusive. Begin with a private snowcat ascent to Eagles Nest, arriving just in time for sunrise. Take in sweeping alpine views over a light breakfast as the resort slowly stirs to life below.

Then, it’s yours. Early access to the Basin, with perfectly groomed corduroy and no lift lines in sight, before carving uninterrupted first tracks down Supertrail – Thredbo’s longest and most iconic run.
First Tracks Club will run on select Tuesdays from 28 July – 25 August.

- For a limited time period, Thredbo Resort is offering an exclusive private buyout of the Kareela Snowcat Dinner and Supper Club experiences for groups of up to 18 guests.
- Guests travel by snowcat to Kareela Hutte for a premium alpine dining experience.
- A rare opportunity to visit Australia’s most iconic on-snow venue without needing skis or a snowboard.
- Travellers seeking a truly unforgettable alpine experience will have a rare opportunity this winter as Thredbo Resort unveils two exclusive ways to experience the mountain’s most iconic dining destination, Kareela Hutte.
For a limited time period, guests can exclusively buyout the renowned Kareela Snowcat Dinner presented by St Hugo Wines, and the Kareela Supper Club presented by Pommery Champagne, transforming mountaintop experiences into a private alpine event for up to 18 guests.

Perched high above the village, Kareela Hutte is one of Australia’s most unique dining destinations. Normally accessible only by ski or snowboard, the venue has built a reputation as one of the country’s most coveted on-snow experiences. This winter, the exclusive snowcat buyout offers a rare opportunity for private groups to experience the magic of Kareela without needing to click into skis or a snowboard.

Kareela Snowcat Dinner presented by St Hugo Wines
The evening will begin with a scenic snowcat journey through the illuminated mountain landscape, transporting guests to the warmly lit alpine restaurant perched high on the slopes. Upon arrival, diners are welcomed into an intimate European-style alpine setting where a premium multi-course menu, featuring decadent St Hugo Wines, showcases the best of mountain dining.

On select Tuesdays from 7 July to 25 August, Thredbo will also offer an experience for milestone celebrations, private groups, or luxury travellers seeking a once-in-a-lifetime alpine experience. The private buyout allows one group of up to 18 guests to take over the entire venue and enjoy the mountain in complete exclusivity.
Kareela Supper Club presented by Pommery Champagne

For those looking to experience Kareela in a more social setting, Thredbo’s Kareela Supper Club presented by Pommery Champagne also returns this winter. Running every Saturday from 11 July to 29 August, the elevated evening begins with a ride on Merritts Gondola before guests transfer to a snowcat bound for Kareela Hutte.
The experience includes Pommery Champagne, a two-hour canape and beverage package, and front-row seats of Thredbo’s iconic flare run and fireworks lighting up the mountain. With only 18 spots available each week, it’s one of the most memorable ways to spend a winter evening in the Snowy Mountains.

Pricing for an exclusive buyout is $5299 for Kareela Snowcat Dinners and $4399 for Supper Club – find out more here.

The Pommery Long Lunch
And of course there is the annual long lunch happening on June 10 – the Sunday of the opening long weekend (which is just six weeks away) and also sponsored by Pommery.

As a, dare I say, veteran (!) of the June opening long weekend, it is always one of the more fun events and tickets are still for sale. Boom!
