Best Aussie tours for 2022 – sleep in a restored shearers quarters with new AAT Kings Queensland Spirit: Heart of the Outback tour

AAT Kings has launched its newest off-the-beaten-track Australian experience with the Queensland Spirit: Heart of the Outback tour, available to book now. For those that love our sunburnt country, this adventure takes travellers into the remote, yet starkly beautiful, Queensland outback, offering rare glimpses into life on the land.

Departing from and returning to Brisbane, the seven-day Queensland Spirit: Heart of the Outback tour ticks all boxes, and gives guests the chance to experience Queensland’s biggest attractions. From visiting frontier towns to meeting quirky characters, exploring vast stretches of farmland and enjoying the experience of staying in offbeat accommodation.

Highlights of the tour include a behind the scenes peek of Australia’s largest collection of dinosaur fossils at the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum in Winton, and the chance to explore the birthplace of Qantas. The accommodation offering is also uniquely Australian, from sleeping in restored shearers’ quarters on an historic working station, resting up in eco-friendly glamping tents under the stars and topped off with an epic rail journey that truly showcases the hypnotic landscape of the Australian countryside.

Guests will be treated to local knowledge and hospitality, like that from ‘Outback Dan’, a fifth-generation farmer at Camden Park Station who hosts tour guests for dinner with his family, giving travellers a taste of what life is truly like on a working station in remote Queensland.

The first departure will leave Brisbane on the 23rd April 2022, and prices start at $3,975 Adult Twin share. Travellers can save up to $500 per couple on the Queensland Spirit: Heart of the Outback tour as part of AAT Kings Wild Awaits promotion for select departures from Jan 1, 2022 – Mar 31, 2023. Travel must be booked and paid in full by Dec 16, 2021 and terms and conditions apply.
