There’s a new name checking into the Gold Coast’s ever-expanding hotel roll call, and it’s one that’s been a long time coming to this side of the world.
Andaz – Hyatt’s design-forward, “we’ve actually read the room” lifestyle brand – is making its Australian and Pacific debut in Broadbeach, with Andaz Gold Coast now taking reservations ahead of a late-2026 opening.

Slotted into The Star precinct at 16 Casino Drive, the 202-room hotel is banking on location doing a lot of the heavy lifting: beach on one side, Pacific Fair on the other, the Convention and Exhibition Centre a stroll away.
It’s the kind of address that doesn’t need much convincing.
The design brief, courtesy of Australian firm DBI Architects with interiors by Hachem, apparently tracks the sun’s journey across the coast – sunrise energy in the guestrooms, twilight warmth by the time you hit the bar.

Whether you’ll consciously register the metaphor after a Verde Bar cocktail or two is another question, but the intent is there: warm tones, “expressive materials,” and enough greenery to nod at the hinterland without pretending you’re not five minutes from a casino.
Rooms lean into the residential-not-hotel trend everyone’s chasing right now – floor-to-ceiling windows, deep soaking tubs in the suites, and a signature Andaz Residence Suite built for people who like an entertainer’s terrace.

Nove Restaurant and Bar is doing the Mediterranean-meets-modern-Australian thing, with fire-led cooking and shared plates as the centrepiece – a fairly safe bet in a market that can’t get enough of a wood-fired anything right now.
Vista Lounge is pitched as the day-to-night social hub, Verde Bar gets the golden-hour cocktail duty, and outside, the Andaz Pool Club offers cabanas for those who’d rather do their people-watching horizontally.
For anyone plotting a visit: the Grand Opening Offer knocks 20% off eligible rates (25% for World of Hyatt members), bookable until 22 December 2026 for stays between 14 December 2026 and 30 June 2027.
The Bottom Line
Andaz has built its reputation elsewhere – Tokyo, West Hollywood, Bangkok – on being the lifestyle brand that actually bothers to look like where it is rather than a global template with local wallpaper. Broadbeach is a fair test of that promise – a destination that knows exactly what it is – sun, surf and a fairly unsubtle amount of neon.

Whether Andaz manages to feel “unmistakably of the Gold Coast,” as its GM Saraid Carey puts it, or just very nicely appointed, will be worth watching when doors open later this year.
