Bondi Rescue Lifeguard Anthony Glick Partners with Chargrill Charlie’s For Destination Towel Series

Chargrill Charlie’s has partnered with Bondi Rescue lifeguard and photographer Anthony Glick to create a limited-edition range of beach towels that celebrate two Sydney icons; our glistening golden beaches and everyone’s favourite chicken shop Chargrill Charlie’s.

Recreating the Italian Riviera lined with custom Chargrill Charlie’s umbrellas across the coastline, the towel series heroes three Sydney beaches: Bondi, Coogee and Shelly Beach – each just a step away from Chargrill Charlie’s famous beachside stores.

In collaboration with Glick’s own brand, ‘Destination Towels’, each beach towel has been shot from an aerial helicopter and designed in Sydney by Glick himself, serving as a fun but important reminder that we don’t need to travel far to find paradise. Made with a unique sand free and quick dry material, each towel features artwork with one of the beachside destination coordinates and signature ‘Chargrill Charlie’s x Destination Towels’ pattern on the back.

Saul Sher, Chargrill Charlie’s co-owner, said: “With the expansion of our new beachside stores in Bondi and Coogee and long-standing presence in the Northern Beaches, we knew it was the perfect time to celebrate our local treasures and shine a spotlight on what makes Sydney and Australia so incredible. With international travel off the cards, there is no better time than now to be embracing our own backyard. We’re so excited to partner with local Bondi lifeguard Anthony Glick as we embrace the local community and beaches in our signature fun and laid back Chargrill Charlie’s way.

At just 27 years old now, Anthony Glick launched Destination Towels in 2018 to combine his two passions of the beach and photography.

“I’ve always been fascinated by the ocean and grew up by the beach. What I love most about our beaches is their accessibility; they’re just a footpath away from a buzzing and fast-paced city” reveals Anthony Glick.

“I’ve been visiting Chargrill Charlie’s for as long as I can remember, so it’s a real treat to have their new Bondi store just seconds away from the water. It’s been an incredible opportunity to work alongside a brand that shares my core values of community while adding in the fun and excitement that is synonymous with Chargrill Charlie’s. I can’t wait for locals to get their hands on our towels”.

The ‘Chargrill Charlie’s x Destination Towels’ series is available to purchase for $50.00, from all Chargrill Charlie’s stores and online at shop.chargrillcharlies.com from 5 March.

Chargrill Charlie’s operates 17 stores across Sydney and Melbourne (Annandale, Bondi Beach, Camberwell, Coogee, Dee Why, Drummoyne, Frenchs Forest, Lane Cove, Mona Vale, Mosman, Neutral Bay, Randwick, Rose Bay, St Ives, Wahroonga, Willoughby and Woollahra).
