FIESTA TIME with Hotel Hacienda & Tacos Muchachos

Hotel Hacienda, the little boutique hotel with 64 rooms including a two bedroom apartment, and a grand floor cantina has got acquainted with the talented crew from Tacos Muchachos. Launching Dinners Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from February 10th.

Hotel Hacienda, a privately owned boutique hotel, quietly transformed itself during Sydney’s lockdown into a little touch of Tulum in the heart of vibrant Redfern. All interiors where either sourced from authentic Mexican artisans along with local providers where possible. Initial concepts were created with the talent behind Alkimi studios, and once the creative foundation was in place, the owners took over to re-interpret and source all the interior elements to fulfill their vision of ‘escaping the ordinary’ in a friendly and welcoming environment, inspired by a family trip to Tulum on the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico.

Sophi Odling was commissioned for the building mural, ensuring a landmark expression of Mexican flora and fauna upon arrival.

The ground floor houses the cantina where Tacos Muchachos has taken root. The Ground Floor showcases seating, communal table and a relaxing sitting and working area.

Tacos Muchachos is bringing the streets of Mexico to the shores of Redfern, slinging authentic street style tacos, and some other classic Mexican food in the Hotel Hacienda Cantina. Tacos Muchachos have a number of specialty dishes including their famous Quesabirria taco which is a 24-hour-marinaded, 6-hour-slow cooked beef taco with gooey cheese and served with a dipping consomm . On certain days you’ll also find an Al Pastor taco which is a spit-grilled juicy pork shoulder in an adovada marinade topped with charred pineapple, finished with their taqueria guacamole and house-made salsas. In addition to all their classic tacos which have the option of shredded beef, chipotle chicken, adobada or cauliflower, they offer other great options like a street burrito and fuego nachos. All of their corn tortillas are handmade in-house to bring you the authentic flavours of Mexico. In addition there are a number of delicious Mexican drinks like Agua Fresca (with/out alcohol), Mexican sodas, Mexican beers and a killer margarita!
