Glenfiddich celebrates Lunar New Year with personalised limited-edition gift packs

Glenfiddich, the world’s most awarded single malt Scotch whisky, has released for its second-year limited edition Glenfiddich packs to celebrate the Lunar New Year. With the opportunity to add a unique and personalised greeting in Mandarin or English on the label, these limited-edition packs celebrate the coming together over the festive season, whether family or friends are separated by distance or reunited in person.

Exclusively designed by innovative artist, Rlon Wong from Shenzhen China, the artwork celebrates “The Great Homecoming” and the journeys many people will endeavour on this year to celebrate with their loved ones, be it online or in person. Available for a limited time, the Glenfiddich packs feature incredible images bursting with vibrant colour and imaginative detail. At their heart, the designs showcase the iconic Glenfiddich Stag (also known as Fu Lu in Mandarin), which represents wealth, prosperity and longevity in the Chinese culture.

Wang says: “I wanted to tell a story that evokes the warmth and excitement of Lunar New Year – the irreplaceable feeling and anticipation of finally coming home to loved ones. Inspired by the Glenfiddich spirit of experimentation and adventure, I created an illustration that comes alive with symbols of generations old and new. I loved playing with the symbiosis of Chinese and Scottish cultures – two connected countries on opposite sides of the world.”

Wang’s unique designs marry visual elements from the East and West. Using multi-layered illustrations, he tells a rich story created especially for Glenfiddich. At the centrepiece is the majestic stag with its auspicious symbolism of long-life and prosperity; surrounding him is a dynamic scene of people making their journey home by road, rail, air and sea. Wang’s images burst with vibrant colour and thoughtful detail. Hidden gems waiting to be spotted include dancing lions and whisky-carrying birds, as well as playful touches such as precious casks being transported by hot air balloons.
