We Are Kindred Resort 2022 Presentation | Afterpay Australian Fashion Week

Contemporary Australian womenswear label We Are Kindred, founded by sisters Lizzie and Georgie Renkert, presented the Resort 2022 collection – Bloom – during Afterpay Australian Fashion Week.

The presentation was held at a beautiful private residence in the Sydney harbourside suburb of Darling Point to an audience of media, buyers, industry delegates, VIP’s and celebrity guests in a garden party format with 18 models wearing pieces from the Resort collection.

Bloom is a love letter to the beautiful and rich variety of the world’s gardens. The label’s signature floral prints draw inspiration for the season from the illustrative florals created with effortless brushstrokes seen in watercolour artworks by European masters.

The colour palette brims with soft blushes, hints of periwinkle blue and eye-catching mint hues, all grounded by a classic gardener’s khaki green. With free-flowing silhouettes in eco-friendly, natural fibres, the collection harkens back to the era of elegant, carefree garden parties the likes of which captured by acclaimed photographer Slim Aarons.

“We are so excited to present our Resort 2022 collection Bloom to the world. Over the past year, gardens and nature have been a place of comfort, congregation and respite for so many of us around the world, so it would seem fitting to celebrate this return to nature and reflect this in our signature prints,” says We Are Kindred’s Georgie Renkert.

Notable celebrity and VIP guests at the presentation wearing We Are Kindred included Delta Goodrem, Vera Blue, Kyly Clarke and Jessica Vander Leahy and were joined by guests including Montana Cox, Erin Holland, Lana Wilkinson, Nikki Phillips and Laura Csortan.

2021 marks the fifth consecutive year in which We Are Kindred has participated in the annual Australian Fashion Week and represents an exciting and optimistic outlook as the world looks toward emerging from the Covid-19 pandemic and embraces coming together once more.

Bloom will be available through leading retailers around the world and in We Are Kindred stores and online from October 2021.
