InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach has unveiled Èliva – a new luxury day spa redefining the role of wellness within the modern hotel experience.
Marking its debut at the beachfront property, Èliva introduces an intuitive, immersive approach to wellbeing, shaped by the energy of the Coogee coastline. More than a traditional spa, Èliva reflects a broader shift towards integrated, experience-led wellness, inviting both hotel guests and locals to engage in a slower, more intentional way of being.
A new era of wellness, guided by intention
At Èliva, wellness is personal and fluid, designed to meet each guest exactly where they are. Grounded in the philosophy of Rest, Recovery and Invigorate, the journey unfolds through a series of interconnected spaces and rituals, from thermal bathing and recovery therapies to high-performance facials and body treatments. Each visit begins with a personalised consultation at the Herbal Ritual Bar, where guests blend their own oils, salts and botanicals using Èliva’s Australian-made product range. From there, a softly curved, wave-like corridor leads into the change areas, where private showers and self-guided scrubs prepare the body for the hydro experience.
A contemporary bathhouse, reimagined
Anchored in the philosophy of sanitas per aqua (health through water), Èliva at Coogee reimagines the contemporary bathhouse through a dynamic interplay of heat, cold and mineral immersion. The indoor-outdoor hydro area encourages movement and contrast, with warm and hot pools, steam, traditional and infrared saunas, cold plunges, a shaved-ice fountain and vitamin C showers, all designed to support circulation, reduce inflammation and restore balance.
Where science meets ritual
Èliva’s treatment menu integrates advanced recovery technologies with hands-on therapies. In the Recovery Lounge, traditional techniques such as massage, stretching and acupressure are complemented by clinically informed modalities, including LED light therapy, infrared PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) mats and lymphatic compression. Èliva is also the first hotel spa to introduce a vibroacoustic bed with a zero-gravity design, using low-frequency sound waves to calm the nervous system and promote deep relaxation.
A distinctly Coogee experience
Drawing on the natural elements of the coastline, Èliva’s in-house product range is certified organic and blended with Australian botanicals including white clay, olive, jasmine, macadamia oil, caviar lime and fragonia. Treatments incorporate sea salts and kelp, reflecting the restorative benefits of thalassotherapy, while the spa’s design and rituals echo the rhythm and ease of the surrounding beachside environment.

Signature treatments for mind, body and soul
Inspired by Coogee’s coastal heritage and its native kelp (Koojah), Coogee First Light is a 90-minute ritual that captures the essence of the ocean. A thalassotherapy back treatment with Australian salts, honey and kelp exfoliates and restores, followed by a white clay and macadamia oil application. The experience concludes with a nourishing facial designed to revive radiance. Inspired by the Australian bush, Walk in Nature is a grounding treatment that draws on native woods and botanicals. Handcrafted eucalyptus and jarrah tools, created in collaboration with a local artisan, are used throughout to connect guests with the textures, aromas and rhythms of the landscape.

The partnership allows Èliva to anchor its treatment offering in proven, results-driven skincare, while complimenting and elevating the overall treatment experience.
