Witchery X KITX Designer Capsule Collection

Witchery X KITX Designer Capsule Collection

Leading Australian fashion retailer, Witchery have announced the launch of its next designer collaboration, partnering exclusively with one of Australia’s most iconic fashion labels and the original house of sustainable fashion, KITX by leading designer Kit Willow, on the Witchery x KITX Capsule Collection, ‘Towards a Sustainable Future’.

In a move that will see Witchery deliver an elevated designer offering to customers, the collection reinforces the brand’s 24/7 style positioning, offering the Witchery customer beautifully curated designer pieces that they will have in their wardrobe for years to come.

This project is the culmination of 12 months of collaboration, with Kit leading the charge on design and creative direction. Fluid fabrications and dramatic silhouettes talk to the mood of simplicity and timeless design with a glamorous functionality designed with Kit’s signature spin on detail including corsetry, bias cut panels and flexible flattering belt detailing.

Launched last Friday, as part of Witchery’s SS22 campaign, the 25-piece collection comprises of dresses, jumpsuits, skirts, pants and tops as well as a beautiful silk scarf featured in the collection’s signature bold ocelot print and a gladiator style high-heel arriving in two colour-ways.

Kit Willow’s passion for the environment and sustainable fashion has been explored throughout the capsule collection ‘Towards a Sustainable Future’, with the use of naturally derived fabrications including Hemp and Cotton. Hemp is an ancient fibre derived from the hemp plant that requires minimal irrigation and little to no herbicides or pesticides to grow.

By choosing the cotton products from this collection, you’re supporting Witchery’s investment in Better Cotton’s mission to help cotton communities survive and thrive, while protecting and restoring the environment. Better Cotton is sourced via a system of mass balance and is not physically traceable to end products.

In the detailing of select styles, we see Corozo Nut Buttons used which continue the story telling of each piece. Corozo is the fruit seed of the Tagua Palm. Being a natural material, and having been tested for harmful substances, the buttons are biodegradable, returning back to the Earth over time. The collection also features undyed cotton care labels and garment hanging tapezippers made with recycled material, as well as swing tickets made from 100% recycled card.

“One of my greater goals is to not only empower women through the clothes they wear but to also raise awareness and influence the fashion industry to create more consciously. Our collaboration with Witchery is an exercise into achieving just that. Together we have created a collection of timeless, chic designs to last many lifetimes and we have considered the environmental impact of the materials in this collection. I am very passionate about minimising the impact fashion has on our planet’s precious resources, thinking about the future and accelerating the pathway to positive change, in chic timeless style”.
