Moon Dog Brewing’s Fizzer launches ‘Proud to Be’ campaign.
As part of Moon Dog Brewing’s commitment to stand up against LGBTQIA+ discrimination in Australia, the Moon Dog Fizzer Alcoholic Seltzer team are launching their Proud to Be mixed 10-pack.
The 10–packs are the go–to product for a barbeque or picnic setting with mates which make for great spaces to continue the important conversation on how we can all be more inclusive and show up for the LGBTQIA+ community.
“We want to encourage people to think about what they’re proud to be, whether it’s a part of the LGBTQIA+ community, an ally, an LGBTQIA+ person’s parent or carer or maybe learning and discovering these parts of ourselves or our society”, says Maurice McGrath, CEO (he/ him/ his).
For this pack, Moon Dog Fizzer has engaged NSW based artist, Luke John Matthew Arnold (he /him /they) to design the packaging for this celebration of the Australian LGBTQIA+ community.
Luke is a Sydney based multi-disciplinary visual artist and illustrator whose art explores their identity, gender and sexuality and the stereotypes that surround it.
I’m proud to be a queer creative. I have evolved to a place where I am comfortable and confident to create whatever I want, without fear of public scrutiny or hate. I was stoked to be able to create artwork for a bevvy that will have proceeds donated to IDAHOBIT”, says Arnold.
Moon Dog Fizzer will be donating $1 from every limited edition mixed 10-pack to IDAHOBIT [the International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination], which celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community and creates free educational programs and resource help combat LGBTQIA+ discrimination in Australia.
With 100 per cent of funds raised going to programs that support LGBTQIA+ Australians, Moon Dog Fizzer’s donation will go towards free and accessible digital resources to help workplaces create safer spaces for LGBTQIA+ people.
On top of Moon Dog Fizzer’s donation towards IDAHOBIT, the team is using an additional part of the profits from the mixed 10–pack to support its own internal LGBTQIA+ initiatives, to continue the important passage towards equity within its workplace, venues and customer network.
“We’re committed as an organisation to create internal initiatives and projects that support sexual and gender diversity” says McGrath.
“I think the Proud to Be initiative will act as a great conversation starter where people across all diversities of life can discuss who they are and why they are proud of that. Through those conversations, I think folks who don’t identify as being part of the LGBTQIA+ community may listen and learn about the challenges many queer people face and also to recognise the strength of the queer community and its people”, says Arnold.
On the Moon Dog Fizzer online store, there will be Proud to Be limited edition t-shirts and stubby holders designed by Luke John Matthew Arnold available for purchase. Customers will be able to choose what they pay, and the full profit of their purchase will go towards IDAHOBIT.
The limited edition 10-packs will be available in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland in Dan Murphy’s and BWS stores plus Moon Dog’s venues – Moon Dog World (Preston) and Moon Dog OG (Abbotsford) and Moon Dog’s online store.
RRP $35.99 for a 10-pack.
